Lenovo UK & Ireland has announced that it has received the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, a recognition for its support of employees experiencing menopause in the workplace. This accreditation, established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace in 2020, certifies high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the work environment.

To earn this accolade, Lenovo underwent an independent assessment focusing on culture, policies and practices, training, engagement, and working environment. Lenovo employs over 800 people across offices in Farnborough, Glasgow, and Dublin. Its Menopause ERG (Employee Resource Group) aims to provide necessary support to employees affected by menopause and perimenopause.

The programme’s objectives include fostering open conversations about menopause, educating employees and managers about its symptoms and impacts, advocating for supportive policies such as flexible working arrangements, providing training resources, integrating menopause support into broader health initiatives, and communicating commitment internally through various channels.

Lenovo also offers informal support practices like the Peppy App for personalised menopause-related assistance and the Everywoman Menopause Toolkit for content on menopause issues. Trained members of the Menopause ERG serve as Menopause Champions for private discussions with colleagues. Office adjustments include air-conditioning facilities, quiet spaces, period products availability, frequent breaks, hybrid working options, and flexible hours.

Adrian Criddle from Lenovo UK & Ireland stated: “We are incredibly proud to receive the Menopause Friendly Accreditation. This recognition reflects our dedication to creating a workplace where all employees feel supported and valued.”

Deborah Garlick from Henpicked noted: “Lenovo recognises the importance of combining formal policies with personalised adjustments… This is a powerful combination that shows Lenovo stands firm with changing the culture of its organisation by openly acknowledging colleagues experiencing menopause while ensuring individuals can access practical and emotional day-to-day support as they need.”

About Lenovo: The company is a global technology powerhouse with US$57 billion revenue serving millions daily across 180 markets. It is ranked #217 in Fortune Global 500.
