As Generative AI (Gen AI) continues to reshape the landscape of work, companies are urged to modernize their digital workplaces to avoid falling behind. Lenovo’s recent global research report, “Igniting Real Workplace Transformation,” highlights a significant gap between recognizing the potential of Gen AI and taking action.

The survey conducted with 600 IT leaders shows that while over 80% believe Gen AI will change how work is performed, only 39% are actively transforming their workplaces. Additionally, 89% agree that realizing AI’s full benefits requires more than just deploying new tools; it necessitates a complete reinvention of the digital workplace.

“Organizations that define a clear, personalized vision for transformation — and act decisively — will be the ones who unlock Gen AI’s full value,” stated Rakshit Ghura, Vice President and General Manager of Digital Workplace Solutions at Lenovo.

Ghura emphasized that transformation is not merely an ambition for the future but a necessity for the present. Those leading this change will redefine both everyday work and broader possibilities for people and businesses.

The report outlines major barriers hindering progress towards digital workplace transformation and offers a strategic roadmap to help organizations accelerate adoption, overcome complexity, and fully harness Gen AI’s potential.

The envisioned future workplace goes beyond adopting new tools; it focuses on unleashing new possibilities. This includes hyper-personalized Gen AI tools simplifying tasks, seamless IT support, effortless security and scalability in the background, and empowering every employee to collaborate, create, and innovate effectively.
