Lenovo has launched a talent development program in Saudi Arabia aimed at training 100 Saudi graduates in smart manufacturing. The initiative is a collaboration between Lenovo, Alat, the Human Resources Development Fund, and the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Graduates will receive both theoretical and practical training at Lenovo’s Riyadh facility as well as other global locations.

The program seeks to equip participants with skills relevant to Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to diversify the economy and foster local talent for sustainable growth.

Lawrence Yu, Head of MEA Regional Headquarters at Lenovo, said: “Saudi Arabia’s vision for industrial transformation is ambitious, and Lenovo is proud to be a partner in this journey. This collaboration shows our commitment to investment in the Kingdom’s most valuable assets, its people. This program will provide Saudi talent world-class skills, foster local innovation, and create meaningful career opportunities for all the participants. Together, we are building the foundation of a thriving manufacturing sector and supporting the goals of Vision 2030 through sustainable growth and local content development.”

Funding for the initiative comes from the Human Resources Development Fund, while strategic direction is provided by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Lenovo will oversee training and operations support; Alat will contribute technical resources and assist in developing the curriculum.

Over a four-month period, participating graduates will rotate through various roles within Lenovo’s global supply chain network. They will gain experience in production, quality control, and digital operations across several international facilities. The curriculum combines classroom learning with practical assignments designed to align with international standards.

Lenovo operates more than 30 manufacturing sites across 10 markets worldwide. Its supply chain was recently recognized by Gartner as one of the top ten globally for operational excellence.
