Lenovo has entered into a multi-year partnership with Gruppo CRG, owner of the Kalì Kart brand, to become the group’s Technology Partner and Title Sponsor of the newly renamed Lenovo Kalì Kart Team. The agreement aims to enhance kart production and on-track performance by deploying Lenovo’s AI-enhanced technology, solutions, and services across all key functions at both the track and headquarters.

Founded in 1960 in Lonato del Garda, Italy, Kalì Kart is recognized as a leading name in international karting. Since 1986, it has been owned by Gruppo CRG, which has established itself as a major player in karting innovation and manufacturing. Together, they have achieved 27 World Titles and 26 international titles. Notable drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Alex Zanardi, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Nico Hülkenberg, Franco Colapinto, and Gabriel Bortoleto have been associated with the group during their careers.

Marco Angeletti, Marketing Director at Gruppo CRG stated: “Our partnership with Lenovo will provide strategic resources to the most talented drivers on their path toward professional motorsports, and help us set a new standard for innovation and high performance on global karting circuits by delivering the technology needed to succeed in the most competitive international championships. With Lenovo’s support, we will greatly enhance the quality of our design and production processes by leveraging the most advanced AI tools. We’ve already begun integrating Lenovo’s cutting-edge technology, with impressive results in data analysis – both on track and remotely – as well as in simulations”.

The collaboration includes providing Gruppo CRG with high-performing workstations and AI PCs, AI-ready servers, Motorola smartphones, and other innovative solutions. These technologies are intended to support various aspects of operations such as data acquisition and analysis, vehicle design, aerodynamic simulations, remote collaboration among teams.

Driver development is also a focus of this partnership. Lenovo devices will be used for coaching purposes so that young athletes can analyze their driving performances more effectively. A new initiative called the Lenovo Kart Academy will be launched to nurture promising drivers under age 16 from within the team. Participants will benefit from educational opportunities including physical and mental training through partnerships like Formula Medicine; they will also receive management support along with tailored marketing programs designed to prepare them for future entry into higher levels of motorsport competition.

Alberto Spinelli, EMEA CMO at Lenovo commented: “We are proud to continue Lenovo’s strong legacy in motorsports by partnering with Gruppo CRG. Motorsports are the perfect testing ground for our technology, pushing it to the limit in demanding, mission-critical environments and showcasing how innovation can enhance operations, improve performance and create better experiences for all”. He added: “This partnership is especially meaningful as it will enable us to contribute to the growth and education of the next generation of drivers – giving them the tools they need to become faster drivers, stronger team players, and ultimately more complete athletes and individuals.”

Lenovo is one of the largest providers of computing devices for education globally. The company remains committed to developing future talent through initiatives such as STEM Racing while exploring further opportunities beyond karting together with Gruppo CRG.

Lenovo reported annual revenues of US$69 billion (https://www.lenovo.com) serving customers across 180 markets worldwide. It ranks #196 on Fortune Global 500 list.
