Lenovo has been recognized as a SERI Champion of Electronics Sustainability, acknowledging the company’s efforts in responsible electronics reuse, recycling, and promoting circular practices. This recognition is based on Lenovo’s integration of the Responsible Recycling (R2) standard into its global Asset Recovery Services, which aims to manage used electronics with strong environmental and data security standards.

The SERI Champions program honors organizations that voluntarily go beyond regulatory requirements in advancing electronics sustainability. Lenovo’s status is tied to its adoption of the R2v3 standard, which is widely used for certifying processes related to used electronics. The R2v3 framework guides companies in managing the reverse supply chain by emphasizing reuse, maximizing material recovery, and reducing environmental impact.

As of February 2026, Lenovo’s manufacturing facilities in Ullo (Hungary), Shenzhen (China), and Wuhan (China) have achieved R2v3 certification. These centers operate according to global standards for responsible electronics processing and support Lenovo’s goals for transparency and ongoing improvement throughout its operations.

Lenovo also encourages circularity within its supply chain by motivating suppliers to obtain certified recycled electronics standards. The company participates on two of SERI’s Technical Advisory Committees, providing input into the development of international sustainability standards for electronics.

To keep its Champion status, Lenovo will be subject to an annual review by SERI.
