Lenovo has been acknowledged as a leader in climate change and water security by the environmental non-profit CDP, earning an ‘A’ for climate change and an ‘A-‘ for water security. This recognition places Lenovo on CDP’s Corporate A List, emphasizing the company’s dedication to environmental transparency and detailed disclosure.

CDP is a non-profit organization that assists companies and organizations in disclosing their environmental impacts through its independent system. In 2024, more than 22,700 companies were evaluated based on their climate and water-related disclosures.

The scoring methodology of CDP became stricter in 2024, aligning with ESG frameworks and increasing the standards for environmental leadership. Lenovo’s position on the A List highlights the robustness of its sustainability strategy, including transparent emissions reporting and effective water resource management.

Beyond CDP recognition, Lenovo also received a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis and achieved AAA status from MSCI ESG ratings. The company is progressing towards its short-term emissions reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, aiming for net-zero by 2050. Collaboration within Lenovo’s global supply chain is crucial to achieving this objective as it works closely with suppliers to support their sustainability goals.

In September 2023, Lenovo joined the UN Global Compact Forward Faster initiative, committing to accelerate private sector progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on climate action and water resilience.
