Lenovo and Intel have introduced a new security solution named ThinkShield Build Assure aimed at mitigating supply chain risks. This collaboration enhances transparency in commercial product tracking within Lenovo’s supply chain. Lenovo’s approach combines innovation with secure-by-design principles to prevent backdoors, counterfeit products, and vulnerabilities.

ThinkShield Build Assure is an enterprise-grade SaaS platform that allows customers to verify device integrity electronically as products move through the supply chain. This technology supports tracking of manufacturing records for components and platform certificates, offering essential insights for audits and internal operations. The platform leverages Intel Tiber Transparent Supply Chain, providing verification of component authenticity.

Intel’s Auto Verify feature ensures the integrity of devices by matching received products with the original order description, reducing risks of supply chain attacks and downtime. The solution adheres to Trusted Computing Group standards, delivering transparency and security across Lenovo’s robust supply chain.

Nima Baiati from Lenovo emphasized the solution’s alignment with evolving security goals in diversified workforces. Rajan Panchanathan of Intel highlighted the importance of transparency and security, noting this brings enterprises confidence to innovate on secure grounds. This initiative comes at a time of rising sophisticated supply chain attacks, offering a comprehensive and secure approach to managing hardware security and enhancing supply chain trust.
