Leagues Cup, the in-season club tournament for men’s professional soccer in North America, returns July 29. All matches will be available globally on MLS Season Pass through Apple TV. The competition is now in its third year and will feature a new format for 2025. The tournament opens with Phase One and continues through knockout rounds until the final on August 31.

For this year’s edition, Leagues Cup has introduced exclusive MLS versus Liga MX matchups throughout Phase One and the quarterfinals. There will be 62 matches played without ties. While the Leagues Cup runs, both MLS and Liga MX regular seasons will continue during August, with most knockout games scheduled for midweek.

The top three teams at the end of the monthlong tournament will earn automatic spots in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup, giving them a chance to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Players have expressed enthusiasm for this year’s event. San Diego FC forward Hirving “Chucky” Lozano said, “I’m very excited to play in the Leagues Cup with San Diego FC. It’s going to be a great tournament between MLS and Liga MX, and a perfect opportunity to show what San Diego is made of.” C.F. Monterrey midfielder Sergio Canales added, “I made my debut with Rayados de Monterrey during Leagues Cup, so the tournament holds special meaning for me. The arrival of more high-profile players in both leagues has only elevated its level. It will continue to gain popularity and grow in the years to come.”

In 2024, Columbus Crew won the Leagues Cup by defeating Los Angeles Football Club after scoring two stoppage-time goals to break a tie late in the match. During the inaugural event in 2023, Lionel Messi debuted for Inter Miami CF and scored ten goals across seven matches; he was awarded both Golden Boot and MVP as his team secured the title.

All live Leagues Cup matches are available on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV with commentary offered in English and Spanish without blackouts. Subscribers also get access to exclusive on-demand content and additional programs like Leagues Cup Countdown (English), Wrap-Up (English), La Previa (Spanish), and El Resumen (Spanish).

A new group of Spanish-language broadcasters joins coverage this year: Francisco “Kikín” Fonseca, Pável Pardo, Daniel Brailovsky, Oswaldo Sánchez, and host Ana Jurka.

Fans can use Multiview on Apple TV 4K devices or iPad to watch up to four matches simultaneously or catch up on key moments if joining late using Catch Up features. Access is possible through multiple platforms including smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes such as DIRECTV or Xfinity, game consoles, and online at tv.apple.com.

Thirty-seven matches—including all knockout round games—will also be available at no extra charge for Apple TV+ subscribers. Those using Apple Vision Pro can view games alongside other apps or within immersive environments that simulate larger screens and spatial audio.

Seasonal subscriptions are available at $49 for MLS Season Pass—a fifty percent discount from $99—for full access to all Leagues Cup matches plus remaining regular season games; existing Apple TV+ subscribers pay $39 for the same offer. More information is provided at https://apple.co/_MLS_.

iPhone users can follow real-time stats via Apple Sports—a free app that tracks scores, upcoming fixtures, lineups, stats, play-by-play details as well as betting odds—and then link directly into live streams on Apple TV; this service recently expanded into Mexico.

Apple Music offers exclusive playlists curated by players such as Inter Miami’s Benjamin Cremaschi and Diego Luna for select fixtures during Phase One of Leagues Cup.

Additionally, fans can use Maps Guides within Apple Maps to learn about each stadium hosting MLS clubs—covering history and supporter traditions—and stay informed with a dedicated hub inside Apple News featuring stories plus scores/standings updates or personalized newsletters sent throughout the competition.
