Honeywell and dsm-firmenich have reached a confidential settlement regarding their disputes over Honeywell’s Spectra MG BIO Blue fiber. The companies did not disclose the terms of the agreement.

According to Honeywell, the dispute has been resolved amicably, and the company will continue supplying Spectra MG BIO Blue fiber worldwide. “Honeywell is dedicated to high-quality standards and customer satisfaction, meeting diverse needs worldwide,” a statement from the company said.

Spectra MG BIO Blue is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber. It is described as being fifteen times stronger than steel by weight and three times stronger than polyester by volume, while remaining lightweight with a small diameter. The blue color of the fiber provides contrast that helps healthcare professionals perform procedures with more accuracy and efficiency, which can lead to greater safety and comfort for patients. For orthopedic surgeons, this product aims to improve knot security, precise knot placement, smooth tie-downs, and increased resistance to fraying.
