Honeywell announced the appointment of Su Ping Lu as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective May 5, 2025. She will take over from Anne Madden, who currently holds the position.

Lu will be responsible for leading Honeywell’s global legal, government relations and security teams. She will report directly to Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell.

Anne Madden is transitioning to a new role as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Transformation and Senior Advisor. In this capacity, she will continue reporting to Kapur and oversee major corporate changes. Honeywell recently outlined plans to separate its Aerospace Technologies business and spin off Advanced Materials. This move is expected to create three publicly listed companies with individual strategies.

Su Ping Lu has been with Honeywell since 2009, starting as Vice President and General Counsel for Aerospace Technologies in Asia Pacific. She later held more senior roles within the legal team and was promoted in January 2024 to her current position as Vice President and Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for International. Her previous experience includes work at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Shearman & Sterling. Lu holds degrees from Stanford University (B.A.) and Columbia University (J.D.).

“Su brings a blend of exceptional leadership, legal expertise and a global perspective, that uniquely qualify her for this role.” said Kapur. “Working closely with our board of directors and our senior leadership team, she will be a critical partner in driving our strategy to accelerate growth.”

“I am grateful to Anne for her continued leadership that draws on her nearly 30 years at Honeywell.  We are fortunate to have her playing such a key role during this transformative time for our business,” Kapur said. “Her unparalleled financial and business acumen will be key to executing our separation plans and integrating recent acquisitions to fully optimize our portfolio.”

Anne Madden joined AlliedSignal (a predecessor of Honeywell) in 1996 as General Counsel of Fluorine Products before taking on roles in Specialty Chemical and Performance Materials & Technologies businesses. Before becoming General Counsel in 2017, she was Vice President of Corporate Development and Global Head of M&A. During her time leading M&A globally, Honeywell completed around 100 acquisitions worth about $15 billion in revenue while divesting approximately 70 businesses totaling close to $9 billion.

Since December 2023, Honeywell has taken steps aimed at organic growth and simplifying its operations through several acquisitions including Access Solutions from Carrier Global, Civitanavi Systems, CAES Systems, the LNG business from Air Products, as well as an announced deal involving Sundyne—these transactions total nearly $12 billion.

Honeywell operates globally across multiple industries focusing on automation, aviation’s future, energy transition solutions as well as digital platforms like Honeywell Forge IoT. More information can be found at www.honeywell.com/newsroom.
