Honeywell has announced that its warehouse execution software (WES) is now available as a cloud-based platform. The company says this move will provide distribution and fulfillment operations with a more scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solution.

The WES platform manages multiple processes within warehouses in real time, including picking, routing, order management, and capacity planning. It collects data from various technologies such as robots, scanners, and machine control systems. This information is then presented in dashboards and metrics to help warehouse operators make better decisions.

By moving to the cloud, Honeywell’s WES offers advantages over traditional on-premise software. These include lower upfront IT infrastructure costs and simpler maintenance procedures. Security patches and customized technology configurations can be deployed remotely. The platform also features built-in encryption and continuous monitoring to help businesses protect critical data and comply with changing cybersecurity standards.

Chad Briggs, president of Honeywell Intelligrated, said: “Today’s complex global supply chain is seeing a growing need for cloud-based solutions that can store and make data accessible across both users and locations. Honeywell is leading the market by launching a cloud-based WES that will give customers the ability to access real-time warehouse data from anywhere, enhancing operational efficiency and increasing agility in managing the supply chain, while keeping data secure.”

The new cloud-based system allows users to integrate WES with third-party technologies requiring significant computing power, such as artificial intelligence models. This integration aims to further improve efficiency by giving businesses access to detailed insights on labor, processes, and equipment throughout their warehouse operations.
