Honeywell has introduced Honeywell Connected Solutions, an AI-driven platform designed to unify building software and technologies within a single interface. The company announced that Verizon Communications Inc. and Vanderbilt University are among the first organizations to implement the solution in their buildings.

The new platform is built on Honeywell Forge and allows building operators to manage various Honeywell systems and devices through one integrated interface. According to Honeywell, this integration provides users with comprehensive data and real-time visibility into critical system operations, along with actionable insights for troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Facility managers, multi-site operators, and integrators can connect quickly using an AI-enabled installation process that takes hours rather than days or weeks. This approach aims to reduce labor time, costs, and operational disruptions compared to traditional building management systems.

Billal Hammoud, president and chief executive officer of Honeywell’s Building Automation segment, said: “From aging buildings and rising downtime costs to skilled labor shortages and growing cyber guidelines, building owners and operators face a complex landscape of global trends that are constantly making operations more complex and costly. To address this, Honeywell’s Connected Solutions allows building managers to link critical building software, technologies and devices together to streamline management and compliance and help protect uptime.”

Verizon has begun using the platform across parts of its global footprint with the goal of predicting potential building or system problems before they escalate into major issues.

Vanderbilt University is deploying Connected Solutions on its campus as well; nearly 10% of its buildings have adopted the technology so far. The university’s objectives include improving system efficiency in its facilities—especially older ones—reducing energy consumption, and enhancing user experience.

Alex Kohnen, chief facilities officer at Vanderbilt University, stated: “Honeywell’s Connected Solutions is an innovative platform offering the tools to use real-time data and AI-driven insights to help us optimize our buildings. We look forward to creating a better ecosystem for our students, faculty and staff.”
