Honeywell has introduced a new connected workforce solution called Performance+ for Guided Work, aimed at improving supply chain operations. The technology combines voice-driven guidance with advanced analytics to provide real-time insights and more efficient workflows.
David Barker, president of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services, explained the motivation behind the product: “In today’s supply chain, the lack of real-time data can hinder effective operations, leading to reactive rather than proactive decision-making. Performance+ for Guided Work represents a transformative leap for back-of-the-store operations. By capturing data in the moment and empowering employees and leaders with tools that enable them to make adjustments in real time, companies can respond promptly to emerging challenges and can keep their business running optimally.”
The system uses hands-free headsets that allow associates to receive directions by voice and confirm item selections while keeping their hands free for tasks such as picking, packing, and maintenance. The artificial intelligence powering the system recognizes speech in over 48 languages, accounting for differences in tone, dialect, and pronunciation.
Managers using this solution are able to gather data from workers through the voice technology platform. This information helps digitize manual processes and integrate tasks into more streamlined workflows. As a result, businesses can better plan, assign, and monitor work assignments so that each worker is matched efficiently with appropriate tasks.
Honeywell describes itself as an integrated operating company serving multiple industries globally through its Honeywell Accelerator operating system and Honeywell Forge platform. The company provides solutions across sectors including aerospace, building automation, industrial automation, process automation, and process technology.
