Honeywell announced on Apr. 13 two new solutions for logistics and warehousing: the Honeywell Intelligrated Momentum Core software platform and the IntelliSort Irregulars Sorter. The company said these products are designed to help companies improve operational visibility, agility, and reduce downtime costs by simplifying integration processes and expanding automation capabilities.

The announcement is significant as warehouses face increasing demands for adaptability and reliability in their operations. With e-commerce growth driving more complex logistics needs, tools that streamline processes can offer competitive advantages to distribution centers.

According to Honeywell, the Momentum Core software brings together machine control and software functions into a single modular platform that can be configured easily. This allows distribution centers to adjust their automation systems according to current requirements while providing flexibility for future scaling. Chad Briggs, president of Honeywell Intelligrated, said, “Adaptability and reliability are equally important mandates in today’s warehouses. Companies need technology that not only pivots quickly with ever-changing customer demand, but also evolves at the pace of individual businesses. Momentum Core allows supply chain customers to start with what they need today without worrying there will be a heavy lift each time they need to make a change in the future.”

Traditional warehouse automation systems often require expensive updates or custom engineering when changes are needed after deployment. Honeywell said its new platform offers a standardized approach so users can modify workflows or reporting without replatforming or extensive engineering work.

The IntelliSort Irregulars Sorter targets parcels that are heavy, oversized or unstable—items which represent a small share of volume but cause disproportionate labor and maintenance challenges in distribution centers. The system is engineered to handle between 3,000 and 5,000 irregular parcels per hour through automation rather than manual handling or semi-automated solutions prone to breakdowns or bottlenecks. Briggs added, “Irregular packages can be a major roadblock for organizations, from post and parcel to 3PLs and online retailers… With the Irregulars Sorter, we are addressing a key pain point in the industry and helping the supply chain perform optimally, even as the volume and variety of these packages grows.”

Honeywell describes itself as an integrated operating company serving industries worldwide with technologies spanning aerospace, building automation, industrial automation, process automation and process technology.
