Honeywell announced on March 26 a new collaboration with Rhombus to expand its cloud-connected security and access solutions portfolio with artificial intelligence-driven video technology. The partnership aims to modernize building security by integrating access control and video management into a single, scalable cloud platform.

The move reflects growing demand for advanced, cloud-based security solutions in commercial environments. Industry data indicates that cloud video systems are the fastest-growing segment in the security industry, expected to grow annually at more than 20 percent through 2029.

Billal Hammoud, President and CEO of Honeywell Building Automation, said, “This strategic alliance combines the strength of Honeywell’s access solutions portfolio, domain expertise and global reach with modern cloud video capabilities and AI enhancements. Together, we will offer an integrated, cloud-based solution that innovates while ensuring reliability and system resilience.”

Garrett Larsson, co-founder and CEO of Rhombus, said the companies share a vision for open platforms in physical security: “By partnering with Honeywell… we’ll be able to offer customers cutting-edge solutions across video security, access control, sensors, building controls and more.” He added that customers would see immediate value from day one due to both organizations’ deep AI capabilities: “We’re excited to work with Honeywell to make buildings more secure and intelligent.”

The new offering will be available initially through Honeywell’s North American channel partners before expanding globally. It is designed for use in various settings such as retail chains, fitness centers, schools and other distributed sites. Deeper integration between Rhombus’ AI analytics platform and Honeywell’s access control systems is planned so users can analyze activity patterns or investigate incidents efficiently.

Rhombus products will be offered through reseller agreements within Honeywell’s partner network as part of this initiative.
