Governor Josh Stein has announced a new appointment to the District Court for Judicial District 36, which includes Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties. Matthew Cabe will fill the vacancy left by Judge Sherri Elliott’s recent appointment to the Superior Court.

“Matt has more than two decades of experience as an attorney in the 36th District, and I am proud to appoint him to the District Court,” stated Governor Josh Stein. “As a Morganton native and an experienced litigator, he is the right person for the job, and I look forward to his service.”

Cabe has been practicing law as a solo practitioner at the Cabe Law Firm in Morganton, North Carolina. Before that role, he worked at the Law Office of Bob Ledford. He holds both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
