Governor Stein appoints Lisa Johnson-Tonkins to Superior Court in Guilford County

Today, Governor Josh Stein announced a judicial appointment to the Superior Court for Judicial District 24A. Lisa Johnson-Tonkins will be serving part of Guilford County, succeeding the Honorable Lora Cubbage who has retired.

Johnson-Tonkins, prior to this appointment, was the elected clerk of the Superior Court of Guilford County. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina A&T and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Governor Stein commented on the appointment by saying, “Lisa has served Guilford County faithfully for over a decade. Her judgement and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to her service on the bench.”
