Governor Stein appoints Alicia Marks Flowers to Superior Court in Cumberland County

Governor Josh Stein has appointed Alicia Marks Flowers to the Superior Court for Judicial District 14B, which covers part of Cumberland County. The appointment comes after the retirement of Judge Gail Adams.

Flowers currently serves as Associate Dean of Administration and External Affairs and Counsel to the Dean at North Carolina Central University School of Law. She previously worked for fifteen years in the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. Flowers holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and earned her law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

“With a strong record of public service and deep ties to Cumberland County, Alicia is well suited for this appointment,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Her legal knowledge and dedication to her community will serve the county and state well.”
