Duke Energy Florida employees contributed over $1 million to local communities in 2025 through a combination of personal donations, volunteer service, and matching funds from the Duke Energy Foundation. From January to November, employees gave more than $293,000 to various causes and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours. The value of these volunteer hours was estimated at over $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched employee donations and volunteer time with an additional $387,000.
Melissa Seixas, state president of Duke Energy Florida, said: “Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can. I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”
The foundation also provided further support across its 35-county service area by investing $300,000 in climate resiliency initiatives, $789,000 for colleges and universities, $163,000 in emergency preparedness grants, and $125,000 in grants aimed at reducing food insecurity.
