Duke Energy has announced several key leadership appointments as part of its strategy to address the growing energy needs across its service territory. This follows the planned retirement of Julie Janson, who has contributed nearly 40 years to the company. With her departure, Kodwo Ghartey-Tagoe, Alex Glenn, and Louis Renjel are set to take on new roles, with Cameron McDonald joining the senior management committee.

“On behalf of everyone at Duke Energy, I want to thank Julie for her nearly four decades of service to the company, our customers, and our shareholders,” said Harry Sideris, president and CEO.

In addition to thanking Janson, Sideris mentioned how these new appointments reflect the depth of talent within Duke Energy. He emphasized the significance of these changes for the company’s $83 billion capital plan aimed at modernizing energy infrastructure.

Kodwo Ghartey-Tagoe will take over as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy Carolinas, while Alex Glenn assumes the role of executive vice president and chief legal officer. Louis Renjel will be appointed as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy Florida and Midwest. Cameron McDonald will join the senior management committee.

Ghartey-Tagoe, Glenn, Renjel, and McDonald will report directly to Sideris.

Duke Energy, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., operates as one of the largest energy holding companies in the United States. It serves millions across multiple states and is involved in a transition towards more sustainable energy solutions.
