Division of Marine Fisheries schedules public meetings for charter fishing industry

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries has announced three upcoming meetings for the charter and for-hire fishing community. The sessions are intended to gather input from industry members about challenges they face, including mandatory harvest reporting.

The meetings will take place in Carteret County on November 13 at the Division’s Central District Office in Morehead City, in New Hanover County on November 18 at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, and in Dare County on December 2 at the College of the Albemarle – Dare campus in Manteo. All meetings begin at 6 p.m.

According to the Division, “Topics will include mandatory harvest reporting and any other topics those in attendance would like to discuss.”
