The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission has announced that a planned presentation and vote regarding Blue Crab management options will no longer take place at this week’s meeting. The decision to remove these items from the agenda was made by the commission chairman, according to a statement from the Division of Marine Fisheries.

The presentation and vote were initially scheduled as part of the Adaptive Management Framework in Amendment 3 of the Blue Crab Fishery Management Plan. The division shared news of the change so members of the public could adjust their plans if necessary.

The commission is holding its meeting today and tomorrow, November 19-20, at the Holiday Inn Resort Lumina in Wrightsville Beach. The event remains open to the public and is being livestreamed on YouTube. Materials related to the meeting, along with access to the livestream, are available on the Marine Fisheries Commission Meetings webpage.
