Starting today, CarPlay Ultra is being introduced with new Aston Martin vehicle orders in the U.S. and Canada. It will soon be available for existing models featuring the brand’s next-generation infotainment system through a software update. This advancement builds on CarPlay’s capabilities, offering an enhanced in-car experience by integrating deeply with vehicles to deliver both iPhone features and car functionalities.

Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, stated: “iPhone users love CarPlay, and it has transformed how people connect with their vehicles. With CarPlay Ultra, together with automakers, we are reimagining the in-car experience, making it even more unified and consistent.” He added that this new generation provides a smarter and safer way to use iPhones in cars while maintaining each automaker’s unique design.

CarPlay Ultra enhances the driving experience by providing content across all driver screens including real-time information such as speedometer readings and tire pressure directly from the instrument cluster. Drivers can manage standard vehicle functions using onscreen controls or Siri, adding fluidity to their interactions.

The integration allows automakers like Aston Martin to showcase their design philosophies through custom themes developed collaboratively with Apple. Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin remarked: “Aston Martin is delighted to have collaborated with Apple and to be first to launch CarPlay Ultra.” He emphasized that this collaboration exemplifies their commitment to bringing unique experiences to customers.

Initially available in the U.S. and Canada for Aston Martin’s core model lineup, CarPlay Ultra will expand globally over the next year. The feature works with iPhone 12 or later running iOS 18.5 or later.
